Hamilton Crossings, Lower Macungie Township, Pennsylvania

Hamilton Crossings is a 560,000 square foot shopping center located on Rt. 222 in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. Opened in 2017, the center is anchored by Target and the first Costco and Whole foods in the Lehigh Valley. Hamilton Crossings is an example of modern retail design where specific attention is paid to tenant mix, building design, community spaces and other features to support the long-term success of the project in the on-line shopping age. The project was developed in coordination with TCH Development and The Goldenberg Group.

Development Challenges:

  • Remediation of “mine wash” material throughout the property that rendered the site undevelopable

  • Identified and coordinated approval of significant transportation improvements along the Rt. 222 bypass

  • Resolution of the pre-existing flood conditions impacting the site and the surrounding area

  • Secured $18 million in various grants, loans and other forms of public assistance to help defray the
